Autoimmune and Cancer Marker Assay: Human CD134 / OX40 ELISAIBL Human CD134 / OX40 ELISA

-serum, EDTA plasma and cell culture supernatant

CD134/OX40 is a receptor of OX40 ligand (OX40L) transactivated by Tax of HTLV-1.

OX40 is expressed in activated CD4+ and CD8+ T cells. OX40 in activated T cells has a role in proliferation of T cells and production of cytokines by binding with OX40L expressed on antigen presenting cells like dendritic cells or activated B cells.

In addition, it also can be involved in activated T cell invasion to inflamed areas through binding with OX40L.

Researchers observed that soluble CD134 / OX40 in plasma is significantly higher in acute adult T-cell leukemia subjects compared to HTLV-1 carriers and healthy individuals in recent study. It was also been reported that the HTLV-1 gene in peripheral blood lymphocytes correlated with soluble OX40 levels in plasma of HTLV-1 infected subjects. (See reference below)
