sCLEC-2 ELISA

IBL-America is pleased to announce the addition of C-type lectin-like receptor 2 (CLEC-2) ELISA to our research use only products. CLEC-2 is a platelet activation marker with CLEC-2 identified as the receptor for platelet-activating snake venom, rhodocytin, and is predominantly expressed in platelets and megakaryocytes. It has been implicated in various physiological and pathological processes, including cancer metastasis and thrombosis. Platelets are activated by factors such as collagen and shear stress when the vascular wall is damaged by trauma or inflammation. During this process, membrane bound CLEC-2 is cleaved by platelet-derived proteases and shed into the bloodstream as soluble CLEC-2 (sCLEC 2). Furthermore, CLEC-2 is also considered to be released in association with platelet-derived microparticles generated during platelet activation, suggesting that sCLEC-2 is present in circulation in multiple forms, including microparticle-associated forms. It has been reported that blood levels of sCLEC-2 are increased in arterial thrombosis, such as cerebral infarction and myocardial infarction.

The solid-phase sandwich ELISA can be completed in approximately 4 hours without using a plate shaker. It is designed for human citrated plasma samples, which should be diluted at least four-fold before adding to the wells. Samples exceeding the assay range ( 6.25 ～ 400 pg/mL) will require greater dilution. The product code is 27820.
